Purpose of Position:

This position will serve as Registered Nurse for the Families First program. Incumbent will provide care coordination to Medicaid-eligible pregnant women and their children, up to age three (3), in Curry County.

THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO CONDUCT ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.

This position is a Pay Band 80.

Classification Description

Registered Nurse Advanced

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing or graduation from a NLN accredited program accepted by the New Mexico Board of Nursing and three (3) years paid experience as a Registered Nurse.

Employment Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) within 10 days and successful completion of Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act (CLIA) are required within sixty (60) days of employment. Position will require Blood-borne pathogen training and successful completion of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course within thirty (30) days, as a condition of continued employment.

Statutory Requirements:

All applicants for this position must be licensed in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act § 61-3-2 through 61-3-31 NMSA 1978 and 16.12.1 through 16.12.20 NMAC, as applicable. You must include your license or certificate number in the "License" section of the application form.

Working Conditions:

Services are provided in communities, clinics, auxiliary site settings and in the homes of consumers, to a diverse racial and ethnic population, many who do not speak English. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Potential exposure to communicable diseases. Travel to provide outreach services is required.
